This mural project was born from a shared love for mountains, outdoor life, and meaningful visual storytelling. Sport Plankensteiner is a family-owned outdoor shop, ski rental, and service center located in the heart of the Kaunertal valley in Tirol, Austria. Inspired by their passion and professionalism, I approached them with the idea of creating a unique mountain mural that would transform their shop into a space that truly reflects the spirit of the region.

After our initial meeting, we planned a full multi-wall line-art mural project. Over several painting days, I hand-painted flowing mountain lines across stairways, changing cabins, and multiple connected rooms. The grainy wall texture and unusual angles made the process both challenging and incredibly rewarding - a perfect playground for large-scale wall art.

Together with the owners, we chose iconic mountains from the Kaunertal area that hold meaning for them and for the local community. These peaks were turned into detailed line-art mountain illustrations and brought to life on the walls. One of the most beautiful moments was seeing locals walk in, instantly recognize the mountains, and react with surprise and joy.

Because I see every mural as a full visual branding project, not just a painting, the artwork also continues digitally. The mountain illustrations were transformed into files ready for printing, social media content, and website assets, giving the shop a unified visual identity online and offline.

What began as a commission became a warm collaboration. Today, Sport Plankensteiner carries a visual story of Kaunertal’s mountain spirit - and I’m grateful to have left a piece of my art and heart on their walls.
